Happy Monday and buckle up buttercups, the markets are mooooooooooooooving!

This week its CPI, earnings, China dea and more, below are more details of why I think markets could start a run back up towards the all time highs.

Key Drivers Behind the Market Surge

1. U.S.–China Tariff Agreement

Over the weekend, the United States and China agreed to a substantial reduction in tariffs, marking a 90-day pause in their ongoing trade war. U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods have been cut from 145% to 30%, while China reduced its duties on U.S. imports from 125% to 10%. This agreement, reached during economic talks in Geneva, is seen as a significant de-escalation and has boosted investor confidence globally.

2. India–Pakistan Ceasefire

A ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has eased geopolitical tensions in South Asia. This development has positively impacted investor sentiment, contributing to the global market rally.

3. Tech Sector Gains

The easing of trade tensions has particularly benefited the technology sector. Major tech stocks like Amazon, Tesla, Meta, and Nvidia have seen significant gains, with Amazon and Tesla jumping 7.9%, Meta gaining 6.6%, and Nvidia rising 5%. U.S.-listed Chinese tech stocks such as Alibaba, JD.com, and Baidu have also rallied.

4. Market Futures and Indices

U.S. stock futures surged following the U.S.–China tariff agreement. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose by 900 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures also saw significant gains.

I’ll  also be looking ahead to upcoming economic data, including the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) report due on Tuesday, which could provide further insights into inflation trends and influence Federal Reserve policy decisions.
